Over two sessions, key leadership from 6 city government agencies came together to design possible strategies to reach the city's 30% tree canopy goal. A collaboration with Maketa Born, a graphic facilitator and coach, the workshops were widely regarded as a tremendous step forward on what had been a challenging issue.

The workshops used the Design Thinking process to encourage participants to listen deeply to the needs of the various agency stakeholders in the group so that solutions would be widely supported. Each department created Point-of-View statements to get their perspectives clear to other participants, then worked in cross-functional teams to map the key problems and generate mutually agreeable prototype solutions.
